Big Boy Bed

This past weekend we took the plunge and got Wes a bed. Not a Toddler bed, but a Twin bed. We kept going back and forth of whether we would go for a Toddler or a Twin. We finally decided on a Twin. Since we’ll be going to Hawaii in July and he’s almost 3, we thought it was finally time. And, for the past couple of months he’s been pretending he’s sleeping in a bed. He’ll get a pillow and a blanket, cover himself up and say, “Good Night, Mommy!” He has never slept in our bed before, didn’t like pillows or blankets in his crib; so I was a little wary as to how he was going to react to a bed.

I was hearing on the radio last week that all these mattress stores were having extended end of the year clearance sales. So, we thought it would be a good time. Friday and Saturday we talked to him about getting a Big Boy Bed. No response. Saturday morning we went to the mattress store. He didn’t seem interested in the beds. He was more interested in the children’s toys and little bench they had there. We were ready to leave the store before he was! Oh, and by the way, what “Sales” are the mattress stores talking about?!? Dealing with them in the past, I think we got a good deal. Wes got a regular Twin bed with Headboard.

Sunday morning, Jay took his crib down. But left the mattress in the room. We waited all day for the delivery men. They didn’t show up til 5:30pm. Finally got the bed all set up by 7pm. When Jay set it up, he had to move Wes’ crib mattress against the desk. When it was completed, Wesley didn’t care. He was too busy climbing up and sliding down his crib mattress.

When it was time to go to bed, he jumped into his bed and said, “Good Night, Mommy” with a smile, and feel asleep.

Faces

It's been a long time since I last post. Since's it been 3 years (yep, 3 years) let me know if you would rather check in on your own instead of getting these automatic posts. At the time I did the automatic posts, I thought it would be easier for some people to read instead of always having to go to the site itself. I totally understand if you would rather not receive these automatic posts. Just let me know and I can take you off the subscription list.

Now back to my blog, sometimes you just wonder where kids come up with some things. My only response is either from his favorite show "Caillou" or roll my eyes that "it must be daycare". For instance, when he talks about Spiderman or "Mac-a-Mouse". We don't see either of these shows. Conclusion, "it must be daycare".

So here is a video of Jay drawing faces with Wes.

I don't remember as a kid ever drawing eyebrows. Yes, you have the main parts...face, eyes, nose, mouth..but eyebrows?!? Gotta make sure he puts in the eyebrows. Where did he get that? Must be daycare...
