The problem with posting now is that I'll start writing, then say to myself I'll come back to it later and edit. Well, then I get distracted and have all these pieces of writings all over the place. So, here are two pieces that I'm putting together.

A recent conversation Jay and I had on Instant Messaging:

[9:50:20 AM] Jay says: I took 2 pictures of him sleeping too :D
[9:50:33 AM] Jay says: he was sleeping so heavy
[9:50:44 AM] Jay says: his feet on the pillow
[9:50:55 AM] Jay says: then he didnt want to getup
[9:51:04 AM] Jay says: he got mad when I scooped him up
[9:51:24 AM] Jay says: but he drank his milk and we watched Thomas
[9:52:07 AM] Jay says: I got up and he looked at me :|and said Daddy! Sit and patted his little hand on the couch next to him
[9:52:08 AM] Mickie says: wow
[9:52:14 AM] Mickie says: (chuckle)
[9:52:33 AM] Jay says: so I sat down and he smiled and was very pleased with him self
[9:53:33 AM] Jay says: what a smart little guy

Camping

This past weekend was our first camping trip with Wesley. We might wait a couple of more years before we bring him again. Well, actually it was good and bad. Good - he had a lot of fun. Bad - he cried for ½ hour before he finally fell asleep exhausted from crying and Jay and I were pretty much awake all night.

It probably would have been OK if it was just us and we had his pack-n-play to sleep in. Instead, there were 4 families. One of the kids was 4, so he and Wes could not get enough of each other the whole time. They both got over-stimulated. Both didn’t take naps. So, during the night both cried. Wes did this before he went to bed, and the other child during the night – 4 times. Wes slept thru that. Jay and I did not. Not just crying, but screaming crying. And, we had no pillows (we forgot), and, the air mattress was on its last legs. We were both tired and ready to go home the next morning. Not only did we not sleep, we had our coffee press, but no coffee…UGH. We prepared so much for Wes, we didn’t prepare for ourselves. Things are definitely different when you have a child.
