I Want

I have never heard a kid use “I want” so much as Wesley. Yesterday it was all in the same sentence, “ I want hotdog, I want mac cheese, I want ban-na, I want mac cheese, I want Seet-Sa (pizza).” Then it was, “I want outside (out our backyard), I want bye-bye (go shopping), I want bye-bye”. Later, it was “See Thomas, see Caillou, see Bob, see Thomas.” Maybe it’s not the “wants” that was frustrating, but all these choices he decides to say all at once. What is it that you really want? I’m confused! He sounded like a broken record. I’ve realized he says it because he can, not because he really wants it. So, then I let him talk it all out, and then said to him, “Oh Look! It’s Lasagna!” He ate it…as he was watching Thomas.

Happy 2 Years Old!

I Love Chocolate!
Well, looks like Wesley has found a new love...Chocolate! It just happened about a couple of weeks ago. He now knows what is inside those little foiled pieces of goodness. He can usually spot them when we think we’ve kept them out of his view. Usually he finds out that he likes something when he takes it out of Jay or my hand. He can be overly cautious when we introduce something new to him, he won’t try it. But he will try it when one of us eats it, usually he likes to dig his grubby little hand into my food on my plate.

Just the other day I turned away for a second and was watching Bob the Builder (his favorite show) and I hear this “tink, tink, tink”. I realize Wes is washing his hand in my glass of rootbeer with ice!

He went to the Dr’s last Thursday. We only gained barely a pound since 6 months ago. He’s only 20.7 lbs! He just fits the car seat forward requirements. At the same time, he is an active boy. All those calories that he takes in is either going to his height or he’s burning it off. Jay was trying to put him into some 18 month shorts the other day. Wes looked like one of those Hip-Hopping kids. The shorts looked like pants and the waistband drooped past his diaper. The diaper was the only thing that made them barely hang on.

I love some of the words he is saying now:
· “Doong-Doong”– should be Goong-Goong (Grandfather in Chinese)
· “Lellow” – Yellow
· “Hop-Pepper” – Helicopter
· “Tee-Too” – Thank You
· “Jay” – when he calls for “Daddy”, and daddy doesn’t answer, he then calls for
“Jay”
· “Eee-YA” – Aye-Ya. Like “Oh No!” in Chinese
· “Aw Man!”
· “Bama”, used to be “Jeanie” – Grammy. Don’t know where he got those. Jay
might have said Wanda Jean and he got “Jeanie”
